“NO” and “YES” Your Way Out of it

In my last post, I wrote about bouncing back from conditions and situations that bring us down.  In this post, I will share some effective ways to help you bounce back.

A few years ago, I learned two simple but powerful “techniques” while getting my Associate Certified Meta-Coach training from Dr. Michael Hall and his team at the International Society of Neuro-Semantics.  I have successfully used these techniques in the “business” to help me and others get “back on track”.

A Meaningful “NO”

Sometimes what keeps us from moving forward or bouncing back is a negative thought that we seem to not be able to get out of our heads.  Using the “NO” pattern can help get rid of such thoughts.

The first step is to remember or imagine something that would invoke the strongest, most energetic “NO” you can utter.  Once you think you have such memory, you need to practice expressing the “rejection” as powerfully as possible without harming or scaring anyone who may hear you uttering a loud and passionate “NO”.  I try to do this in my car so no one can hear me.  Keep in mind that the real power comes from the amount energy behind the “NO”. You really need to use your imagination to find the worst possible case to say “NO” to.  You must find the most energetic “NO” you can express with your loudest voice and your whole body (use your arms as if you were “pushing-back” something or someone if possible).

Once you have it, try it several times and memorize it. Get it good!!! Once you do, bring it to bear on the “thought” that is causing you trouble and is keeping you from getting back on the horse.  The key is to practice and to get the FULL energy of the “imagined” worst-case “NO”.  Once you have the BIG “NO” in your system, you can leverage it time and again with thoughts that get in your way and prevent you from bouncing back.

A Meaningful “YES”

The second technique follows the exact process as above.  But in this case, you are looking for the most energetic “YES” you can remember or imagine.  Something you REALLY want to say a BIG “YES” to.  The rest is similar yet the application is to help create energy to pull you out and towards whatever it is you want.

Using both in combination is most effective to get you going again faster and better.  Repetition is the key.  “YES” and “NO” as often as necessary until you memorize it in your “mind-to-muscle” system.

So if you’re in currently in one of those holes or dips, try to “NO” or “YES” your way out of it!
